Acoustic Wave Therapy, better known as Low Intensity Shockwave Therapy (LIST) has been used for years as a multi-disciplinary device used in Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, Physiotherapy, Urology, and Veterinary medicine. DOES THE TREATMENT HURT?
No for most patients. A numbing cream is self-applied 30 minutes before each treatment, but some people may experience mild stinging with the first couple of treatments. Since each treatment is only 5 minutes any discomfort felt will be short lived. If this occurs then you can tell your practitioner, and they can adjust the machine to a lower setting.
